Our Process

  • Assessment

    If you have concerns with your child's communication development, a 60-90 minute session is recommended.

    Assessment will involve parent report, observation of and interaction with your child and may include formal testing if appropriate.  

  • Treatment

    Therapy sessions are 45 or 60 minutes in length depending on your child's needs.

    Therapy goals are determined following assessment and in consultation with parents and other professionals.  Sessions are one-on-one.  Parents are encouraged to be involved.  A variety of mediums and materials will be used to engage your child and hold their interest.

  • Consultation

    I am available for consultation with other professionals and/or in different settings (such as daycare centres).

    The need for consultation may be determined at assessment or during therapy.

Note

Please note, we do not offer direct billing to private insurance companies at this time. Payment is required by our clients at the time of appointment. We accept cash, check, or e-transfer at this time. An invoice will be provided for insurance purposes.

Cancellation Policy

Work of Heart kindly requests 24 hours notice to cancel any pre-booked appointments to avoid a cancellation fee. Please let our team know if you or your child is sick and unable to attend as we have a waitlist.
